the pretty damn good of 2003January 12, 2004 @ 12:34 a.m.
I was thinking about putting together a Top 10 of 2003, but then I realized that I didn't buy that much the past year. I'm not sure why, it sure seems like I bought a lot of CDs. I suppose I bought quite a few not-quite-new albums too. Stuff that came out in 2002, etc. Anyway, here's some of the albums I really enjoyed with 2003 releases. From the hip-hop world... -Little Brother "The Listening" on ABB Records (if anyone has this, or sees a used copy, i could use another one. it was stolen along with my car stereo) -Soul Position "8 Million Stories" on Rhymesayers -Lifesavas "Spirit In Stone" on Quannum Most of the rest of the music i bought was drum & bass... -Ed Rush & Optical "The Original Dr. Shade" on Virus -Klute "Lie, Cheat & Steal/You Should Be Ashamed" on Breakbeat Science -Andy C "Nightlife" (mix album) on Ram -Marcus Intalex "Soul:ution Vol 1" (mix) on soul:r -Reid Speed "Life After Dark" (mix) on Breakbeat Science Comedy... -Dave Attell "Skanks for the Memories" -Lewis Black "Rules Of Enragement" and the best 'not exactly a re-issue, but not exactly a new album' award goes to The Beatles "Let It Be... naked" Well, that actually makes 11 albums, although there are some more I could list, aqua teen is coming on, so these albums ahall remain #1 in da hood G.
